Abstract

The case studies are introduced here, before any analytical methods have been treated in detail, so that the reader will be in a position to fully appreciate the application of each method, as it is presented in Chapters 6–8, to real data sets. The analyses are collated in Chapter 9, but after reading about each method in Chapters 6–8 you may refer to appropriate applications in Chapter 9.
