Abstract

In chapter 2, section 4, we looked for solutions of Laplace’s equation in cylindrical polar co-ordinates r, θ, z of the form

$$ \phi = R(r)\Theta (\theta )Z(z) $$
((40))

and we found in chapter 3 that the form of the solution depended upon the values of the constants a and n.
