Abstract
This paper discusses some of the experiments which have been made upon solar particles since 1960. Present knowledge of the abundance of the solar cosmic rays is treated, but the main emphasis is upon the energy region between 1 and 30 MeV. The significance of the exponential rigidity form for the spectrum of solar protons is discussed, and some new results from rocket observation of the November 1960 events are presented. Observations of increases in the solar proton flux at the time of the sudden commencement are discussed, and observations of cut off changes by Injun I are briefly treated.
