Broadly, these current developments are aimed at:

  • increasing the density of seismic control over a reservoir, to improve the definition of faults and other barriers in plan,

  • improving seismic resolution, to see thinner beds and smaller features, and

  • learning more about the nature of the rocks, by making additional seismic measurements.
