Field Test & Interpretation

  • Chapter
Gaswell Testing

Abstract

In this chapter we shall undertake the analysis of an actual well test. The well to be tested, the Melancon Heirs #1, is located in Acadia Parish, Louisiana, about 12 miles due west of Lafayette. It is a North Rayne Field stepout well and was perforated and cleaned up just prior to the test. Both gas and liquid production were expected, and, because a pipeline was not available, it was decided to flare the produced hydrocarbons and dispose any water production in the pit.
