Abstract
Among the many features that set Homo sapiens apart from his hominid brethren, one emerges preeminent. I have chosen to call it, the “intellectual imperative.” It is the unquenchable spirit and relentless desire to explore and expand knowledge to the ultimate, to invent the uninvented, to discover the undiscovered, to create the uncreated. And devil take the consequences.
