Abstract
The Benigraph sea-floor mapping system is an integrated system for pipeline surveys. It consists of the following sub-units: a surface positioning system, a tow-fish positioning system, a high-frequency scanning sonar, facilities for data storage and presentation and a tow fish with cable and handling equipment. The specifications of the Benigraph enable it to measure the bottom topography with a depth resolution of 5 cm and a resolution of 20 cm in the horizontal plane.
