Abstract

The world “Coalplex” has recently become fairly familiar as a result of various proposals. Although these are somewhat tentative and speculative, the subject is worth discussing in this chapter. Some general concepts are indicated, examples are given and their potential economics are considered. Finally, some ways in which coalplexes might approach realisation are suggested.
