Abstract
Palpitations, missed beats, rapid heart beat, rapid and slow heart beat, faintness and lightheadedness, paraesthesiae and pins and needles and exaggerated awareness of heart beat are all common presenting symptoms in the family physician’s consulting room or office, and account for a large number of referrals to cardiac clinics for diagnosis.
