Abstract

This is otherwise known as the ‘acute urethral syndrome’. The implication is that there has been mild trauma, and the patient complains of dysuria. Recurrences are common but no organisms are grown. It is very important to exclude gonococcal infection, prostatitis or tuberculosis, and gynaecological disorders.
