Abstract
Estrogen deficiency causes atrophic changes of the urethra and bladder in a very high percentage of post-menopausal women. The consequences are atrophic cystitis, urethritis, ectropion urethrae, kolpitis, bacterial and fungal infections, loss of tonus of the bladder and urinary incontinence.
