Abstract
There are a number of mental disorders with a definite physical basis and these can be divided into two categories. First there are those due to physical lesions in the brain and second there are those due to lesions elsewhere in the body. The first category will be the subject of the next chapter and in this chapter we shall consider the mental effects of lesions elsewhere in the body.
