Abstract
While everyone understands training few have a clear definition of a ‘trained user’ and the introduction of new technologies brings with it the need for management to define the ‘trained user’ and to negotiate with unions sensible levels of training. Not only have Computervision become a major turnkey CADCAM system supplier in the UK but also they have become a major training organization. In this paper the author traces the development of the CV training programmes and looks to problems facing the industry in the future.
