Abstract
Robots need a wide range of sensor types to obtain information. Sensors provide feedback to the robot containing information about the robot’s action (internal sensors) or about its environment (external sensors). Although a few types of sensors may be used for both internal and external sensing, it is more convenient to discuss these two classes separately.
