Abstract

Electronic carriers tend to circle flux lines when they move in magnetic fields. Under the circumstances discussed in Sec. 2.8 and shown in Fig. 2.4, these circular paths are extended into helices with radii, pitch dis­tances, and frequencies of circulation. The radius referred to here is the magnetron radius described in Sec. 23.1, and the frequency is the cyclotron frequency described in Sec. 23.2.
