Abstract

The purpose of a blueprint is to provide the information necessary to build a printed circuit board. Printed circuit boards are complicated products. Multilayer printed circuits are often the most difficult to design, build, and test of all components in a piece of electronic equipment. For this reason, all persons involved with the printed circuit process must know what information is required for a correctly documented printed circuit blueprint. Incorrectly and incompletely documented blueprints waste time and money, and may have a severe negative impact on the timely marketability of a product and the economic viability of a company. Blueprints and the information they contain are therefore not to be taken lightly.
