Food Sources of Nutrients

Abstract

Many patients may ask questions as to the best food sources of specific nutrients of which they may be trying to increase or restrict the intake. On the following pages of this section are tables to assist in educating patients as to the dietary sources of several key nutrients. These tables provide representative, rather than complete, listings of nutrients in commonly consumed foods; each nutrient has numerous other dietary sources which would have been too cumbersome to list for the purposes intended by this handbook.
