Abstract

Farm size, like farm morphology, is a basic ingredient of settlement analysis. Since farm sizes have begun to change markedly in Toledo, further examination of this important element is offered. Normally, farm size depends on two basic factors: the alternatives of labor, capital, and land; and the objectives of agricultural development for a given region. This chapter attempts to analyze these factors in order to suggest an optimum farm size for settlements like Toledo.
