Abstract
In the developed countries, agricultural education has evolved in the course of more than a century, and is capable of forming adequate numbers of agricultural professionals of high calibre. Its major shortcoming is generally a lack of grounding in the practical aspects of farming and over-specialisation of the graduates. It is, however, in the Third World countries that the problems of agricultural education (Fig. 19) are acute, and this chapter is therefore mainly oriented towards these problems.
