Abstract
The field of teratology has long been restricted to the morphological aspects of developmental anomalies. Since the major morphogenic processes are ended as early as the first trimester of gestation, the late gestational period has been considered to be free of teratogenic risk. However, it has been observed that interference during late pregnancy could result in fetal growth retardation and late fetal as well as neonatal mortality.
