The Onverdacht Bauxite Deposit — Surinam

Abstract

This is perhaps the best example of the many bauxite deposits that occur along the Guyana Coast of South America. These are residual deposits, related to the formation of laterites, but in this case (as in many) the bauxite itself is not in a typical laterite profile.
