Landscaping and vegetating reclaimed sites

  • Chapter
Reclaiming Contaminated Land

Abstract

Other chapters have described the complex nature of land contamination and as a consequence of this, the variety of remedial actions available for reclamation of contaminated land sites. Similarly, when considering landscaping and vegetating as the final process in reclaiming sites, no single definitive approach can be identified. The landscape specification for each individual site and the response of vegetation to the conditions prevailing will of course depend primarily on the way in which the site was reclaimed in the first place.
