Abstract

The years since I first began to work with schizophrenia have gone by fast. I am naturally reluctant to count them. I shall try to give at least a glimpse of some of the work I have been involved with during these years, mainly at Worcester State Hospital, but also at the University of Illinois, and most recently at the National Institute of Mental Health. In the face of a problem like schizophrenia, I can only humbly hope that I have contributed at least a few solid bricks to the final structure of understanding.
