Abstract
Over the past 5 years a large number of papers have been written on the subject of premenstrual syndrome (PMS). These have covered the scientific basis of the syndrome, as well as treatment. A great deal of information has been collected, but no clear underlying cause of the syndrome has been found, probably because multiple factors are implicated.
