Abstract

The special features relating to the adolescent or adult patient with coarctation are due to a considerable increase in variety and incidence of complicating lesions, the presence of substantially higher levels of hypertension, and the fact that no allowance has to be made for future growth of the anastomostic site. These various factors will be discussed in some detail.
