Abstract
Electronic products and techniques are making a tremendous impact on all our lives in the latter half of the twentieth century. It is a period of rapid and exciting change for all of us involved in electronics, and as such it sets the authors a difficult challenge. This is to communicate to you in this short text our enthusiasm for electronics and its developments along with the basic technical knowledge required.
