Abstract
The previous chapter has shown how the properties of jointed rock govern slope form and slope evolution. However, landscapes are composed of assemblages of many types of slopes and are good examples of the whole being greater than the sum of the invididual components. When entire landscapes are considered, additional rock properties become important. Widening the spatial context also leads to the necessity of enlarging the time dimension.
