Abstract

During extensive comparative ecological studies of the Staphyiinid fauna in different ecosystems in the High Soiling an approximately 130 year old beech forest (Luzulo-Fagetum) has been researched most intensively. Using different methods (Hartmann 1974, Grimm et al. 1974) throughout several years the total spectrum of species can be exactly described with special regard to structure and dominance. Particular interest is given to phenology and dynamics of abundance of the most dominant species, whose biology and lifetables were unknown with only few exceptions.
