Abstract
Strictly speaking almost anyone could develop AIDS if exposed to infected blood or blood products; however the epidemic in the United States has highlighted some individuals who are at a greater risk of acquiring the disease:

Homosexual or bisexual men

Intravenous drug abusers who share hypodermic needles

(3)
Haemophiliacs who have received infected blood products

(4)
Transfusion patients who have received infected blood products

(5)
Heterosexual partners of AIDS patients or those infected with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)

(6)
Infants of parents with AIDS
-
(7)
Cases associated with central Africa
-
(8)
Haitians
