Abstract
During the second part of the Twentieth Century, some scientists have lost the habit of thinking about the conceptual basis of science : experimental methods, as an evidence, seemed to fill in every need of understanding phenomena ; and if some points remained dark, more experiments by themselves would provide with progress. So much that the deep epistemological questioning of the first part of the century looked like intellectual games for many people.
“The science of Nature is not the thinking impulse which gets straight away at the world of objects, but also the environment in the midst of which mind gains knowledge of himself.”
Ernst Cassirer, 1951.
