Abstract

Chorioretinal folds are undulations of the choroid, Bruch’s membrane and the overlaying retina. These can be idiopathic, but because orbital tumors and several other lesions could produce this picture, an echographic examination of the orbit should be performed in all these cases. We describe 55 patients with retinochoroidal folds and orbital tumors. The pathogenesis of these folds with or without an orbital tumor, and the role of the echographic examination are discussed.
