Abstract

For refractive surgical procedures and medical therapy a correct assessment of corneal thickness is crucial. We conducted corneal ultrasound pachymetry in 200 eyes, and found that the peripheral thickness was significantly greater than central thickness (0.669 versus 0.54 mm). The thinnest point was below the center. The more distant from the centre the corneal thickness, the greater the upper thickness (0.689 mm) with respect to the lower thickness (0.627 mm).
