The Results of Treatment of Patients with Endometrial Cancer and Carcinoma Cervix using Californium-252 HDR

Abstract

The source of neutron radiation Californium-252 has been applied at the Center since 1983. Radiobiological, clinical and dosimetric studies of Cf-252 HDR neutrons for therapy were carried out in our Center in 1977–1986 within the framework of the scientific program “Clinical study or radionuclide 252Cf” [1, 2, 3, 4, 22, 23, 25, 28].The treatment has been given to 1411 patients. There are 5- and 10-year treatment results available. We have obtained large experience in treatment for gynecological cancer (Table 1).
