Abstract
The first day of the Symposium Space of Service to Humanity was dedicated to papers concerning Global Issues. During the course of the day, the speakers discussed many important issues concerning space and its role in serving humanity. This was reflected in the richness of the panel discussion. A lively and interesting debate was fueled by a variety of fields, including space solar-powered satellites, technology transfer and space commercialisation, as well as a variety of philosophies regarding space activities.
