Abstract

Is light and more generally matter, constituted of waves, of particles, or of wavesparticles? The debate concerning the nature of light began in the seventeenth century-at the moment of the publication of two books which laid the foundations of Optics: The book of Chr. Huygens, Treatise of Light, and the Opticks of I. Newton.
