Abstract

The water resources of the Yalong River basin may be affected by variations in air temperature and precipitation. In this paper, the impact has been estimated by using the Langbein model, the Turc model, a non-linear regression model and a higher order gray box dynamic model. The results are quite good in the optimization of model parameters, the model assessment and forecast verification. The average annual discharge will probably decrease if the air temperature rises 2°C in the future. The rate of decrease is greatest in the dry season.
