Abstract

The propagation of small pressure pulses or sound waves in a fluid is a source of informations for single and multiphase dipersed systems. A sensing instrument based on the measurement of the ultrasound speed (frequencies between 20 kHz and 100 MHz) represents a cheap, rapid, low energy and non-invasive apparatus, able to monitor on-line the evolution of some physical properties in both single and two-phase dispersed systems.
