Abstract

This paper brielly reviews the activity of the Solar Department of the Astronomical Observatory in Bucharest and the instruments that are now available at the Observatories in Bucharest, Timisoara and Cluj. The observation projects for the total solar eclipse of 1999, based on the present instrumental possibilities, are presented.
