The following review is based on personal experience gained whilst acting as an Inspector for American Society of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ASHI) and European Foundation of Immunogenetics (E.F.I) and during ASHI inspections carried out in the Tissue Typing Laboratory in Belfast.
