Abstract
Ice nucleation active bacteria occur on ieaf surfaces of pfants. They are the cause of frost injury on frost sensitive pfants. Addition of quarternary ammonium salts to the ice + strains of Pseusomonas syringae, B 728a and P. fluorescens, 553 resulted in reduction of the ice nuciei and supercooling the water droplets. Different compounds appiicated on corn plant surfaces decreased the frost damage compared to the plants solely inoculated with ice nucieation exhibiting bacteria.
