Abstract
Schemes for interferometers to observe systems of planets orbiting their star, and to obtain the spectra of these planets are in a state of concept development. The simplest of these schemes use four telescopes either in a diamond shaped or linear configuration. These preliminary designs are used as a basis to explore solutions to the problems that will be encountered in the development of focal plane instrumentation.
