Abstract
Environmental damage caused by irrigation includes numerous soil problems such as salinization, alkalization, humus flushing, superfluous wetting, and groundwater problems (contamination and water-table rise). Due to inadequate monitoring methods, these problems usually tend to be detected only after considerable delay.
