Abstract
In this chapter we give a short introduction to Lebesgue integration and Stieltjes integral (Halmos [27], Howson [29]). The Lebesgue integral plays a central role in the Hilbert spaces L 2(M) (see chapter 1). The Stieltjes integral is important for the spectral representation (see chapter 4).
