Abstract
When quantum mechanical particles incident on a potential V one is interested in the fraction transmitted through the potential and the fraction reflected by it. One calculates the probability of reflection and the probability of transmission (Flügge [22], Constantinescu and Magyari [15]). The probability of transmission (or of reflection) can be expressed in terms of the transmission coefficient T (or the reflection coefficient R), defined as the ratio of the probability flux of the transmitted (or reflected) wave to the probability flux of the incident wave.
