Abstract
Five papers among the contributions presented at the NATO workshop PROBAMAT-21st CENTURY cover Fracture and Fatigue, a very broad spectrum. The papers are not homogeneous but offer an update of problems, tools and applications in a branch of material science which represents a necessary link toward engineering.
