Abstract
“Ring-opening metathesis polymerization” (ROMP) is a way of making polymers from cyclic olefins, as shown in equation 1, where R1 is the rate of forming polymer initially (in some cases reversibly) and R2 is the rate of “secondary metathesis” to give all possible linear and cyclic species.
