Within the Ann Arbor Community

Abstract

I shared an office with Edith and, as a newly baked physicist, I learned from her much of the workings of the astronomical community. Our office was built into the old observatory’s entrance foyer and was very publicly accessible. She was her usual friendly and bubbly self with everybody who visited, both students and faculty. She was always interested how everyone was doing, especially how the students progressed in their studies.
