Abstract
Lectures and discussions at the SCORe workshop have given a general idea of our present understanding of convection and oscillations and its application to the special case of the Sun. This SYNTHESIS is just an attempt to present what seems to me to be the most important results, to draw attention to forgotten physical processes and to approach some important unsolved questions.
