Abstract

The present paper discusses magnetic field-induced phase transitions and the H—T phase diagrams of itinerant metamagnets with an unstable d-sublattice. In particular, the effect of the magnetic anisotropy on the field induced phase transitions is studied in detail. The theoretical results are compared with the available experimental data for the compounds (YR)(CoAI) 2 and RCo 2,where R is a heavy rare-earth element.
