Abstract
There are 15 companies, from 3 continents, which are planning to participate in the X-Prize Competition, and there have been 35 requests for registration packets so far. the idea of the foundation is to attract entrepreneurs. the funding will come from advertising rights and high profile companies will be targeted. the first attempt is expected to take place in 2000 or 2001. Space tourism, satellite launching and package delivery are expected spin-offs from this competition. the space tourism market is expected to evolve from parabolic flights to sub-ortibal flights, and eventually to orbital flights.
